Absolutely! Especially if you did your time or probation or whatever was required. It shouldn’t be the outside world’s business.

this is unrelated, but VA has a state constitutional amendment on the ballot in Nov to automatically restore voting rights after being released from incarceration. I had a lengthy discussion/argument with my Dad about it the other night- he says he's voting no, I'm voting yes. He feels the voting rights shouldn't be restored until a full sentence is completed (including parole, probation, & etc), and when we got further into it he even admitted he wouldn't be in favor of it if someone was released early because then they would never "technically" complete their full sentence. I was pretty appalled at his line of thinking and pointed out that he was essentially voting for taxation without representation since many released inmates hold jobs during parole/probation, so at that point they are taxpayers and should have the right to vote (in my opinion). He still refused to budge and I'm actually really disappointed in him. I still plan to vote yes and I hope the measure passes!

It’s really bad because I couldn’t get approved for Door Dash, Instacart and Rover. I’ve finished everything, paid all fees, and still when a background check is done I am turned down. I even got my voting rights back too.
