dye penetrant is used daily in non destructive testing and is a great way of seeing defects in welding and metals especially in aluminium because when you grind or buff alu the material magrates across the crack and hides the crack . merc wheels are the worst for cracking 😁😁😁

Quarry spec solutions. Wait until night or make dark area. Chuck some chalk powder at it give it a gentle blow shine a standard UV light at the right angle you will see the faint line of crack but you will have to get the light the right angle. New school version get UV pen colour in area let dry wipe off shine light 🛠🤙

I’m a welder I just fine the end of the crack then add 40 mm then drill it then grind it to the hole so basically wing it touch wood never had one back 🤣🤣🤣

I always drill a small hole at the end of the cracks. so the crack can't go no further.
