@lohokidsafrica: DRAWING A LINE IN THE SAND As we care for our sons and daughters, we understand that raising them is about much more than providing food, clothing, education, and a place to live. The Heavenly Father has entrusted these lives to us, and we also have a responsibility to help them know Him, understand His Word, and learn to walk in His ways. They are growing up in a world filled with many voices. Through school, friends, television, social media, the community, and the people around them, they will hear many ideas and see many different ways of living. Not everything the world accepts is something we should accept. Not everything that is called normal is pleasing to the Heavenly Father. That is why we must be intentional. We must teach them the Word. We must pray with them. We must correct them when necessary. We must guide them with love and truth. And we must teach them to know the difference between what is right and what is wrong. Joshua made his stand clearly: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15 That is the line we are choosing to draw. We cannot control everything our sons and daughters will encounter in this world, but we can teach them the truth, build a strong foundation, and pray that they will choose the ways of the Heavenly Father wherever life takes them. Our calling is not only to help them grow physically. We want them to grow in character, wisdom, faith, and obedience to the Heavenly Father.
