It’s the other way around: Ultrasilva or Transylvania was translated into Hungarian as Erdély. When the Hungarians arrived, they settled in Pannonia, within the Roman world of the ancestors of today’s Romanians. That is why Hungary wrote in Latin for about 800 years: Hungarian royal authority had to be legitimized through Western European chanceries and the Papacy, which used Latin. “The lands beyond the forest” reflects a perspective from Pannonia, from outside the territory inhabited today by Romanians.
