@ohhthatsrich: Are the doomsday warnings from leading #AI companies a ruse in pursuit of an excuse to miss financial targets? Or is the danger real? Two things can be true. #artificialintelligence #economy #bubble

The technology is expiring every day. They bought all this equipment before the facilities were built so it’s obsolete before it’s even used. Most of the CPUs and GPUs have a 3 year lifespan. Data centers are devaluing faster than an American car.

UNTIL Issac Asimov's "3 rules" are incorporated into AI, I'm NOT buying into the technology.

what donyou think about the possibility that AI is truly independent and is threatening its rich creators with exposure and electronically ending their billionaire status?

I think the most amazing moment in the future will be the “problem” of what do do with the non-functional defunct data centers

I work in data that uses AI, every single platform is hallucinating and making up data... if it doesn't just quit mid task.

I think you make a great point. I went to a conference recently on AI in Healthcare, and it is hard to see the return on investment. It reduces cognitive load on physicians, and does some cool things with pathology data and other medical data, but humans still need to check information it spits out. I think we figured out pretty quickly how to monetize the internet, but AI is a different animal

AI is not super-intelligent or mysterious. The scary reality is how much power we’ll hand over because they’ve convinced that it is.

Scifi tells me that AI will take over and whether that means good or bad for me will depend on the story. That kind of Governance by AI feels different to me than Widget Making business AI. Am I crazy? Am I missing something?

In my teaching credential courses I’m encountering an almost lobbyist level of pushing AI as the “next great thing in education”. But the application of it just doesn’t add up to what it’s really like in the classroom.

AI is heavily dependent on a global trading system to produce the hardware to run it. That global free trade system is rapidly breaking down right now.
