I told the guy im talking to about how i was treated in past relationships, how i been r*ped and how sometimes i still get nightmares about it and triggers. And he put in alot of effort in finding out how he can help me overcome these triggers and nightmares and how he can make sure he does't trigger me and i really hope i marry this guy eventually🤞🏻🥹

What you tell your partner about your deepest wounds gives them insight into where you are most vulnerable. A healthy partner will use that knowledge to understand you better and protect you. Someone who is prone to manipulation, control, or punishment may use that same knowledge against you. You never know who you’re going to end up with.

Ignore the people saying “don’t tell him bc he will use it against you”. If he does, he isn’t someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, is he? They’re acting as if withholding this information from a partner will prevent them from being evil, but if they aren’t a good person, they will just find another way to hurt you. So many people in the comments basically saying don’t add fuel to the fire, but why are you dating a fire in the first place??? Stand up and get better partners. If they really cared abt you, they would never use it as a way to harm you
