🚨Anthropic has introduced Project Glasswing, a new cybersecurity initiative built around its unreleased AI model, Claude Mythos Preview. According to the company, the model can analyze code, uncover security vulnerabilities, and even develop exploits at a level approaching top human experts. It has reportedly already identified thousands of serious bugs across major software systems, including some that had gone unnoticed for decades. That level of capability also comes with clear risks. A model this advanced could make it much easier for malicious actors to discover and exploit software flaws at scale, potentially increasing both the speed and volume of cyberattacks while lowering the technical skill required to carry them out. Because of that, Anthropic is not releasing the model publicly. Instead, access is being limited to a select group of partners, including AWS, Microsoft, and Google, so it can be used for defensive cybersecurity work.
