30 is the cut off according to the government for benefits, but 40 is actually full time by all definitions. 30-39 are the grey hours

Typically it’s 35-40 in order to get benefits. If you’re salary it’s typically 50 hrs.

For companies that meet the requirements to provide benefits to all full time people. full time is average at least 32 hours a week.

You’re just looking at the definition as to at what point an employer may have to offer some type of benefits. Your job description will dictate hours expected.

I think that 30 hours is mostly to determine if a large employer needs to pay for health insurance. I worked 37.75 but I am salaried so I get to work extra hours for free if it gets busy
