We’ve become obsessed with having more. More money. More food. A bigger house. A better car. More success. And somewhere along the way, we stopped asking Allah to put barakah in what we already have. Because there are people earning twice as much as you who still can’t make it to the end of the month. People with beautiful homes that have no peace inside them. People surrounded by hundreds of people who still feel completely alone. And people who have everything they once wanted but somehow still don’t feel content. Then there’s someone with very little... But somehow it’s enough. Their home has peace. Their children love them. Their health is good. Their income covers their needs. They sleep peacefully at night. And their heart is content. That is wealth too. We just stopped recognising it. I genuinely think some of the greatest blessings Allah gives us are the ones that don’t look impressive enough to post online. A normal day. No phone call with bad news. Food on the table. Your parents still alive. Your children healthy. Enough money to pay your bills. Peace inside your home. These things become so repetitive that eventually we start calling them “normal.” Until one of them disappears. And suddenly you’d give anything to have that normal day back. Don’t only ask Allah for more. Ask Him to place barakah in what He has already given you. Because sometimes having more isn’t the blessing. Sometimes the blessing is needing less and finding that what Allah gave you was enough all along. Alhamdulillah for the obvious blessings. And Alhamdulillah for the quiet ones we haven’t learnt to notice yet.
