Synopsis of Investigation: The Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (Board) requested the Division of Investigation (DOI investigate Esthetician Sonya Dakar (Dakar) to determine if she was providing esthetic services (for compensation) at an unlicensed establishment, Sonya Dakar Skin Care & Body Clinique, 9975 Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90212. An undercover operation confirmed that Dakar was offering and performing esthetic services (for a compensation) out of an unlicensed establishment, Sonya Dakar Skin Care & Body Clinique, 9975 Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90212, a misdemeanor violation. This final investigation report will be submitted to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office (LADA) for review for criminal filing consideration. This report will also be forwarded to the Board for their review and final disposition.
