This would be accurate for the parts in Egypt and the later Exodus through the desert. However, Ancient Judea was actually much greener than that, like the Palestinian countryside today. Whatsmore, during the gospels, Judea had gone through the Hellenistic period and were currently under Roman occupation, so they dressed much more like greeks or Romans. I did this drawing below to show the kind of clothing Jesus wore
