@aero.total: SERVE AIR 737 DISABLED AFTER KINDU TAKEOFF ACCIDENT A Serve Air Cargo Boeing 737-300 freighter was disabled during an attempted departure from Kindu Airport in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Thursday. The aircraft, registered 9S-AAI, was operating a cargo flight from Kindu to Kinshasa and departing Runway 36 when its right main landing gear collapsed, causing the aircraft to veer to the right, according to reports from specialized aviation media. Close-up footage shows the aftermath from several angles, with the right side of the aircraft sitting low and the right engine in contact with the pavement. The right main landing gear area is also visible at close range, while a large amount of fluid can be seen on the pavement beneath the aircraft. An initial account from Maniema provincial authorities describes a different sequence. Provincial Interior Minister Lawamo Selemani Taylor said the aircraft had reached approximately 8 meters above the ground before reportedly being destabilized by a “tourbillon,” returning to the runway and suffering a tire failure. According to that account, the subsequent damage resulted in the engine contacting the ground. No fatalities were reported. DR Congo’s BPEA has dispatched investigators to Kindu. The exact sequence of events and the cause of the accident remain under investigation. #ServeAir #Boeing737 #DRCongo #Aviation #AviationNews
