@anastasiabeautyfascia: Those little chin dimples and wrinkles can tell you a lot about what your mentalis is doing. The mentalis originates on the mandible and inserts into the skin of the chin. When it contracts, it elevates the soft tissue of the chin and pushes the lower lip upward, which can create that familiar puckered, dimpled texture. So if your mentalis is already overworking, repeatedly pushing everything upward isn’t necessarily what it needs. In this technique, I work in the opposite direction, gently lengthening and relaxing the area downward while reducing unnecessary mentalis contraction. And remember to watch when you activate it. Some of us tense the chin while swallowing, concentrating, brushing our teeth, or even sitting at the computer without realizing it. Save this and check your chin in the mirror when your face is completely at rest. 🤍
