They over complicated it SO MUCH. It’s no wonder kids struggle with it. They took a problem that could easily be solved in 3 steps and turned it into a nightmare that takes 12 steps and a diagram. WHY?!

I do math for a living (in nuclear power) I’ve never received less than an A on any math work ever. My child is better at math than I am and is headed to MIT. Neither of us understands “new math” I had to teach him “old math” and he nails it every time

Dont know, I was one that represented my school in 10th grade for the national math olympics. Long time ago in another country. I recently felt dumb as a rock when trying to help my kid with math on third grade. I don’t know why they are making basic math so complicated
