Another part of the story as someone with chronic pain is the lack of access to pain meds due to the opioid epidemic. Legitimate pain patients have been denied drugs that can alleviate their symptoms because of abuse.

my husband is a construction worker and fell 3 stories, broke his back and shoulder and ribs. Watching him go through it was horrible 😪

Woof this hits TOO close to home 😭 my super active dad took his own life 4 years ago. Three years after a fall of a ladder shattered his leg and left him with a fused ankle and unable to run or ski anymore. He sobbed and begged the doctor to amputate and they refused. It ruined his life. And ended it. And sort of ruined mine.
