As a fellow child of hoarders this is the inevitable situation I’ll be responsible for dealing with one day. Hoarders are infantilized so much and the experience of their children become SO overlooked. Thank you for speaking on your experience publicly. It’s important to spread awareness that hoarding effects ALL financial classes.

My dad’s death was a biohazard. It was truly traumatic. He died from a GI bleed. There was blood everywhere. Im so sorry you’re going through this. I know eating and sleeping seems impossible but you need to. You need to take care of yourself

When my mom died, I found out she was a hoarder. I had no idea. She had stockpiles food and toilet paper and everything and on top of that she had 22 cats and a 1200 square-foot townhouse and they destroyed everything. It was awful. We basically had to gut the whole thing before we could sell it.

Please don't call yourself that. It is NOT true in any way. You are a generous kind hearted person. Please take care of yourself first. You're still on this earth with your son and husband and many other people that you mean the world to. It is understandable to feel betrayed by both your parents. You have done well in your adult life and have your own amazing little family. Please take time to process this and talk to a therapist that may be able to give you tips how to process and go forward. Your parents bad choices are theirs alone. Unfortunately you have had to deal with the consequences of their bad choices and their deaths. Sending you extra love and prayers. Hoping brighter days are ahead for you. You deserve it.

My father was found dead in his home five days after and he was a hoarder as well. They had trouble getting him out. He was the town weirdo and I'm not sure if he even liked me. I am sending you sooooo much love you are not dumb you are a daughter who was longing for love. ♥️
