A few years ago Gov MB put out a thing wanting one student information system across all divisions. They should have invested the time and money into developing their own system, that’s Canada owned, and where it’s guaranteed that the data stays within Canada. The transition was horrible for Sunrise School division too.. they went from Maplewood Connect, Then Edsembli Connect, now PowerSchool. Whoever is making these technology decisions (most likely MERLIN) should really rethink their choice in contract partners.

Other school divisions in Manitoba have been using Powerschool for years and it has been a very useful tool for not only the kids but the parents as well

my sons school uses powerschool and its great! he got a paper copy of his classes back in June with his report card.

I think my school did this too cause everyone In my class had problems with their schedule that took weeks to fix and messed up alot of peoples plans

🤣😂🤣 switched to a company that got hacked and a lot of families information. Yes my kids power school was affected by this.

I retired from an administrative school job 6 years ago. I had used Power School for years. It is a great program and will make a big difference when it is fully setup.

For the record, teachers received zero training on the new system and were told to figure it out. They also didn’t get access to it until the day before kids were set to arrive.

This has nothing to do with the system itself, it’s a poor implementation plan executed by the WSD. Too many people were more concerned with their summer holidays vs actual student experiences.

I HATED HATED HATED powerschool... good luck to all of you being absent in class and getting phone call consently. also ontop of that the app is SLOW and constantly down..
