@wndu16: A St. Joseph County judge has ruled four Democratic candidates previously blocked from running must be placed on the November 2026 general election ballot. The judge issued a permanent injunction in a lawsuit from county Democrats, ordering the clerk and election board to immediately restore the following four candidates to ballots: Autumn Kaylor, St. Joseph County Auditor Dan Caruso, New Carlisle Town Council at-large Marcy Kauffman, New Carlisle Town Council at-large Christy Donlon, Walkerton Town Council Last week, 16 News Now reported the Clerk’s Office defended keeping the Democrat candidates off of the ballot over “insufficient paperwork.” But today, the judge ruled the election board and clerk acted outside of the law. #Politics #Localpolitics #News
