i think it’s also REALLY disingenuous to be like “they’re humans even if they’re racist” when palestinians have been in solidarity with Black americans (and also Black south africans) ESPECIALLY. Malcom x went to Jerusalem and was inspired by the resistance of the people there and that is what he brought back with him to the us. angela davis quite literally wrote a critique of the “New Jim Crow” to say that it didn’t go far enough to consider the palestinians BECAUSE during the ferguson uprising palestinians were quite literally tweeting from an ocean away how to deal with tear gas and rubber bullets bc that’s their norm. Stop Cop City got a TON of research on surveillance tactics from palestinians who have been seeing the tech daily be used to enforce apartheid. casual racism and anti-blackness is obviously wrong but it is insane to me that the argument is “well but they’re human” when palestinians have shown time and time again that they see the humanity in EVERYONE (even in the face of genocide people in gaza have advocated for sudan and congo bc the system is the same!) because no one sees the humanity in them. reducing them down to just an “anti black group we have to be good people towards” erases the genuine solidarity the movement has with Black liberation

I hate this argument or when the pinkwash (for people who don’t know what pinkwashing is, it’s when someone brings up the LGBTQ+ community but only to prove a point, like someone who doesn’t care about gay rights saying oh well did you know that Palestine doesn’t even like gay people? I’m a black queer woman and I really don’t care, let’s just assume for a second that every Palestinian is racist and homophobic (I know not everyone is but let’s just say for this argument) I still don’t think because someone doesn’t like me or support my views deserves to die, I still don’t think children deserve to die.
