Day one post op! After 15 months on from when my original ankle fusion surgery failed to unite, I am on day one of my long road to recovery. Struggling with low blood pressure and the nerve block is wearing off so the pain is taking hold now. I have a PCA fitted so I control when I get the morphine with the flick of a button. (Obviously this is capped so is safe) and a catheter due to urine retention. I’m not going to say it’s easy, it’s not. But the staff are amazing and I’m feeling very grateful to have the NHS and for being cared for to this standard. Thanks for your good luck messages.
