Replying to @J.Grimes 🚆 Consider this your sign to take the train! Living in Charlotte, I honestly think we underestimate how convenient train travel can be. We have access to so many destinations throughout North Carolina and beyond, and I’ve officially become a train girl. 😂 I’ve taken Amtrak to Raleigh, Washington, D.C., and now Atlanta, and while train travel may take longer than flying, I genuinely enjoy the experience. And listen — I know somebody is going to say, “You might as well fly.” 😂 But travel however YOU feel most comfortable. For me, sometimes I’d rather sit back, read a book, watch a movie, look out the window, get some work done, and enjoy the ride. A few first-time Amtrak tips: 🚆 Download the Amtrak app — booking is super easy. 🎟️ Create an account instead of checking out as a guest so you can earn Amtrak Guest Rewards points on eligible travel. 🧳 Check the baggage policy for your specific trip. Amtrak allows carry-on baggage and checked baggage is available on select trains/stations, so always check your route before packing. 💺 Coach is a great option for shorter trips, and if Business Class is available, that’s usually my preference. For my longer trip to D.C., I booked a private room and LOVED having my own space. 🚉 The station experience is also one of my favorite parts. There’s no traditional airport TSA security checkpoint — you arrive, wait for your train to be called, board, find your seat, and enjoy the ride. Is the train always the fastest option? Nope. But sometimes the journey is part of the experience. And if you have easy access to train travel in your city, why not use it? 🚆✨
