For people who do not understand the birthday one just because you might not feel up to something but it is very important a person you're close with, sometimes you have to do things that you don't quite want to do because you care about the other person you would want that person to do the same for you, it's called maintaining relationships.

some of yall are showing your true colors with the birthday one. it might not matter to you but people's birthdays only happened once a year. if you agreed and then cancel because you don't feel like it, you are getting cut tf off because are an a hole. their asking you to show up for one event that very important to them , and you dont even have to stay the whole time, you can pop in and leave. you guys are way to grown to be acting like that.

The bday one is controversial and people are taking it at face value. If a friend is really not trying to put an effort for your bday? Block. But if they’re socially anxious, you can always make separate plans with them. It’s that simple!

I don’t know what everyone is talking about, the birthday one is INCREDIBLY manipulative. Not showing up on your BEST friend’s important day just because you don’t want to feel inconvenienced or uncomfortable? Like leave early if anything. Take breaks in the bathroom. Step outside for a moment when you feel overwhelmed. Figure something out. Just show up for your friend!!! You wouldn’t want it to happen to you so don’t do it to other people!!!
