I plan to grow my hair out very long. I had to cut my hair to a pixie length 2 years ago because I was growing out permanent black hair dye and I wanted my natural color (which is very similar to yours!) and I haven’t trimmed/cut it since. 2 years and I just started getting some split ends for the first time a few months ago. I might trim them idk. Do you do “hair dusting”? Where you trim split ends individually? I’m worried if I don’t trim them my ends will get all stringy. Also how often do you wash your hair? We seem to have a similar hair type and I have to wash mine every day.

I've had people touch my hair without asking and then telling me "what if I just cut this off right now? What would you do?" They'd say this as a joke but wtf? My sister joked she'd cut it off in the middle of the night, a lady at work came up behind me and stroked my hair and said she wanted to chop it off. One time at a block party one of my male neighbors pulled on my braid with a metal hook. People are horrible

My hair isn’t even half that long but my best friends mom literally made pose for pictures with my back turned because she wanted a picture of my hair, and she made her daughter stand next to my hair for a picture too it was so weird 😭

dude the people online who act like they have to do 200 steps and use a billion different products to maintain healthy long hair piss me off. I know the entire point is just to sell a product. my hair is maybe 4 or 5 inches shorter than yours, and all I use regularly is shampoo. conditioner, a satin pillowcase, and a wooden comb. that's it. these girls online do scalp oiling and hair, hair masks, leave in conditioners, heat protectant, protective styles and multiple bonets, scalp stimulators, scrubbers when shampooing, several different types of combs and brushes. like hooooly shit you do NOOOOT need all of that! I feel like it sets a bad example for people who want to grow their hair long. they're focusing on all these products and are spending all this money when really all they need to do is gently detangle, prevent tangles where you can, and leave it the fuck alone!!!

The amount of money and effort that goes into having long hair as well. People making comments on donating it is genuinely the most infuriating thing, like I don't owe any part of my body to anyone. Yk how much less product I would have to use if I didn't have as much hair? I put the time, effort, and money into it, I don't owe that to anyone.
