@zahrathedesertcat: One year ago, we found Zahra in the Agafay Desert. We didn't set out to start a rescue initiative. We just weren't going to leave her there. But bringing her home showed us how many animals in Morocco need help, especially now that FIFA has announced the 2030 World Cup there. Reports have surfaced of stray animals being culled inhumanly ahead of the tournament, poisoned, shot, left to suffer, instead of using effective long term solutions. That's why we started this page. We wanted to shed light on what's happening and support humane alternatives like TNVR (trap, neuter, vaccinate, return) instead. Our original plan was to go back and help the colony Zahra came from. That fell through when access we'd been promised got pulled. But that hasn't stopped us from continuing to try. In the meantime, we've redirected everything toward other cats who needed it just as badly. A year later, because of this community's donations, dozens of cats have been trapped, neutered, vaccinated, and returned safely thanks to the work ADAN and @habiba tazi have done. We'll be sharing photos soon of the cats your donations have helped save. None of this happens without the groups doing the real work on the ground.
