when this happened, I honestly think she thought this is great, everyone will love me for this and say thats amazing dedication and true grit etc, and that everyone would support her for it. It's only the negative pushback that's changed her into apologising.

I mostly exercise at home now but when I was a gym member people would load up machines with 100+ kilos of weights and just LEAVE THEM ON THE MACHINE so if I wanted to use it I'd have to remove them all myself and it drove me nuts. If you're big and strong enough to load them on PUT THEM BACK WHEN YOU'RE DONE.

Thank you! You’re one of the few explaining it so thoroughly from psychology of the athlete, to the culture of elite fitness athletes and private equity. I’m a competitor & coach of Hyrox and have been involved in the space for a since about October of 2025. Admittedly I do think it’s a fun way to be active as well as push myself without getting to the whole space of like Ironman, triathlons etc, Hyrox has ALOT of work to do (New York 2026 opened my eyes but that’s a different story). One thing I will say that I’ve noticed that has been consistent, if something happens Hyrox will only do something if the public, core audience, or some entity involving money makes enough noise about it and I don’t think that should be the case. In short Hyrox handled this HORRIBLY, and Joanna should have withdrew after she pooped herself. She is apart of Hyrox’s elite 15, she would have had SEVERAL more opportunities in the future to compete again at the championship level if she was truly sick, she’s in the company’s pocket, she would have been fine.
