also, because credit agencies are awful, if you completely pay off your card and on your reporting date it shows $0 (across all lines of credit) it will show 0% utilization and it will drop your credit score. ideally keep your utilization between 1%-3%.

I simplify it. I have a card with a 42k limit and have never put more than 3k on my card in a month. And then just pay it off in full as soon as the bill comes.
