The Ukrainian parliament recently approved an absolutely scandalous mobilisation reform which will see hundreds of thousands of new recruits forced to frontline, and for those of you who are foolish enough to believe that Ukraine is a democracy lets take this opportunity to analyse this new mobilisation law.  According to the new law all Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 and 60 now have to carry a military ID on them at all times and if they don’t that will be grounds for detention. Furthermore, this law also applies to men who currently live outside Ukrainian borders in which case, lack of military ID will prevent any man from obtaining a new passport from the Ukrainian embassy.  Also, a demobilisation clause was not included in the law meaning that soldiers won’t be permitted to return home even after 3 years of fighting which was the standard before the conflict started. Additionally, any man who refuses to register at the military recruitment center within 60 days will face fines and his drivers license will be taken away. My friends, the truth is at least from where I’m sitting is that this new conscription law will drive a wedge between Kiev officials and ordinary Ukrainian citizens. After all, it doesn’t apply to the ministers, it doesn’t apply to their deputies, nor judges nor numerous civil servants or National Police Employees. But it does it apply to the regular Ukrainian men, many of whom simply do not want to fight.  In fact, only 20% of Ukrainian men aged 25 to 59 who are not already members of the military are considering joining the army and 63% outright don’t want to join, and that’s according to a poll conducted by the Info Sapiens research agency. But Anyway, I want to leave you with some final thoughts to ponder alright? Look, I’m no mathematician but mathematically speak it’s impossible for Ukraine to win this war, regardless of how many people they mobilise. And just take a moment and think about those European and American politicians who boast about European security and American economic prosperity, all that of the backs of regular everyday Ukrainians, people just like you and me, who don’t want to fight but get snatched off the streets and sent to the frontlines or get their rights taken away.  Now does that sound like a democracy to you, let me know in the comments and I want to wish you all the best!
