Can i just say why are we comparing story strength and playable strength? Like yeah ‘Aha’ will get powercrept eventually bc theyre just as much a ‘playable character’ as everyone else? If we did take story strength as playable strength, why is phainon weaker than castorice hm??? He’s killed her like 33 million times wouldnt he be stronger than her?? So…?😭

everybody quitting hsr when I just joined a few months ago😭😭 hell I ain't quitting I don't care if the story as they say is "mid" for all I care I will still eat it up 😂✌ I don't even got evancesia yet and especially nihilux, super excited for nihilux's animation kit and tbh I don't really care if they say she looks similar to sparkxie my first gacha fandom was fgo and I didn't complain shit with all the saber faces✅

okay so I did struggle to keep up with your arguments (please slow down the voice I beg) but I'll toss my hat in the ring for shits and giggles. so I haven't played hsr for a few patches so take this with the context of I have already left the game. as a disclaimer, I will be comparing to other gachas that I still play but not with the intention of placing one over the other, with the intention of contrasting scenarios. so my first problem is with her design. it's a good design, don't get me wrong, it is good outside the context of the game. however, it is a very *safe* design. many of the characters released across the game, but *especially* during planarcadia, there has been the red-black-white color pallette on a disproportionately high amount of characters. it also shows no experimentation in silhouette and there are very few if any references to Aha the aeon in nihilux-as-Aha's design. this design is more fitting of an emanator than an aeon. put some mask motifs on her outfit and I'd feel better about it. it's also very orderly for a chaotic aeon but that's a separate issue. as for playable aeons as a concept, THEY were introduced as abstract manifestations of a concept. they were introduced and talked about as very distant forces who subtly affect the universe. if Sunday became Ena, I don't believe he should have been playable. if Cyrene actually became Fuli instead of just preserving a small localized portion of the universe with her capabilities as an emanator, I don't believe she should have been playable. when DH becomes Long the Permanence, I don't want that version of him playable. when TB becomes Akavili and Terminus, I don't want those forms playable. when March becomes Fuli and "Evernight" becomes Mythus, I don't want those playable. that's been an issue talked about for a while how every main important character is super powerful, which dilutes the impact of meeting other characters of emanator or aeonic power. emanators used to be a big thing but now they're just expected and don't cause a stir. the same thing will happen to aeons. and if you think they'll stop at just Aha, you're naive. one thing i have a big issue with is the fact the whole "Aha's gender wawaa😭" is just stupid, Aeons literally transcend the concept of gender. So if they choose to take the role of an adult human WOMAN, they'll be an adult human woman, so wether you call Nihilux she or they doesn't matter

It’s all just repetitive and hurts to watch the devs make the same mistakes, and fumble concepts i enjoyed in the first place. Maybe they have limited resources, but i think they could do far better

I understand why aha is playable but what I don’t get is why Nihilux doesn’t have more gold in her design, Queen of hearts in the cards at least had a lot of gold in her outfit and it would’ve made her more unique from Sparxie

like yeah the aeon that was extremely close to akivilli (who is hinted(?) to be connected to the mc) is gonna be playable if any aeon were to be playable 😭😭 everyone was wanting a sampo sp and saying “i hope sampo gets an sp and is revealed to be aha!” like so clearly you don’t mind that an aeon is playable you’re just mad it’s nihilux 😭😭

They don’t read lore, don’t listen to lore, then complain about it not making sense for an aeon to be playable, THEN start making imaginary scenarios in 8.X about Nanook being a playable wifeu bait, and gets mad about it. Like are we fr? The talk about Aha getting power crept in the future by some random character, but the gameplay and actual in game lore is different. Idk why they insist it’s the same.

i legit said they need to start improving the designs... then someone said "ok u dont even play the game." i've legit played on the CBT2 + since launch and haven't missed a single day except for a week in 1.7 bc i was on a trip. 😭
