@piniunoi: 🚿SHOWER DAY… if you know, YOU KNOW!😂 As Mum’s dementia progresses, her resistance to showering has definitely increased and what used to be a simple everyday task can now turn into a whole lengthy negotiation, distraction, redirection and sometimes a full-blown production 😂😭 So today we’re sharing some of the little tricks we use to get through shower time with Mum. Not because they’ll work for everyone, but because sometimes another carer’s random little trick becomes the thing that saves you 45 minutes of convincing 😂🙌🏽 We’ve learnt that with dementia, sometimes it’s less about Mum, you need a shower and more about meeting her where she is, changing the approach, using humour and trying again when something isn’t working.
