@yazzielynn: It was not a good day yesterday, and I made it worse day today… Everybody had to write an apology note to the substitute teacher. And then we had a conversation about ensuring that we treat everyone in our classroom with respect. We chatted about being proud representatives of our class, our parents and guardians at home, and most importantly ourselves. When I asked who was proud of what they did yesterday, nobody raised their hand. Because even if they weren’t actively being disrespectful, they decided to be a bystander. We talked about shared accountability, and how we should advocate for what is right regardless of where peer pressure may sway us.
