At around 5 years old most APs are having second thoughts about raising other people's children. They got to play house with a baby and now they can give the child back to its family.

If I were adopted and eventually learned that I had a biological parent who wanted me, but that my adopted parents kept me from them, my hatred for the adopted parents would never end. Someday this kid is going to learn all about this and the adopted parents are going to find themselves on the wrong end of an unwinnable argument. This really sucks for them, but keeping the kid is just delaying the inevitable.

He has every right to his child. That’s the risk you take with adoption.

They have to do a search for missing father before finalizing an adoption…so the adoption should still be valid if they did all the steps.

My first mother signed a different man’s name to the papers. We had one conversation and she le5 me know she lied on the paperwork. Who knows what the story is…I may never know. This is more common than most realize

There is clearly a reason the bio mom didn’t tell the dad about the baby. He needs to leave that Baby right where they are

My adopted kids have a bio dad that wanted to come into their life. He did. Then ghosted them. So, when they are grown-they can decide if they want to have that in their kids. But I will not let one more adult treat my kids that way

In these cases, most people side with an adult, but totally fails the child!!!!

If the father didn't know that's his child if the adaptive parents knew about the father that didn't know they were wrong. Go back to father.

that is such a difficult situation. One, bio mom should face fraud charges. two dad does deserve rights, but at the same time, what is ultimately in the best interest of the child. Being ripped from the only home she ever knew?... I don't think that's what is best. I hope the adoptive parents and bio dad can work together to foster the best interest of that little one.

I'm sorry but you don't just take a 5 year old out of the only home they've ever known. visitation? sure.

If he truly loved that child, he would not rip her from the loving home she has known all of her life. I think visitations would be ok, but full custody? Come on now…

One of the risks of adoption. Stop denying fathers their rights.

Sounds like the adoption agency should’ve done more homework before placing the child. Even if the biological father was not notified for whatever reason, that doesn’t automatically mean he loses his parental rights. The agency still had to follow the proper steps and get the needed consent or court approval. If they didn’t, the adoption may not have been handled properly, and now everyone is dealing with the fallout five years later.

For all those saying your baby was kidnapped at birth and sold to a lock bf family and 5 years later your baby was found…you would absolutely want your child. And that little girl has every right to know and bond with her father.
