@anniemd007: @Hungryroot I brought my husband home from the hospital yesterday. He’s in a battle with Pancreatic Cancer. WE are in a battle with Pancreatic Cancer. It is the most stressful era of our lives and sometimes it feels like we are just barely hanging on. But he is stable and recovering from Sepsis secondary to an intra-abdominal pseudomonas aeruginosa, likely introduced in the OR or during IR drain insertion 10 weeks ago, when he was hospitalized for 12 days to cut out a Stage III Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor, a rare form of Pancreatic Cancer. For funsies, they also took the distal end of the pancreas, 8 lymph nodes, and a whole spleen…with the intention of Cut To Cure. This time, he was hospitalized x 9 days, 10 if you count the sleepless night in the ER, waiting for a bed. Plus, I had to go back to work as a High Risk Maternity RN, nightshift. We want off this Cancer Coaster right now. It’s too much all at once and I am overwhelmed. But we are home now and I don’t have to work for a coulple days, so if I want a bite of raw cookie dough or brownie batter, but I also need to take better care of myself throughout one of the hardest times in our lives, I’m going to reach for Hungryroot to give me a little dopamine rush and satisfy my chocolate craving while also giving me some fiber and protein.
