@lifelinegalvestoncounty: We wish we could say we understood how someone could do this. These four tiny kittens were found inside a cooler that had been left near the plants in Texas City, in an area with very little traffic. They appeared to have been tossed there and left behind, with no one coming back for them. Thankfully, one of our board members found them. She didn’t hesitate. She picked up that cooler, got these babies to our Adoption Center, and made sure they had something to eat along the way. That little bit of food in the cooler may not seem like much, but in that moment, it was someone choosing to care when someone else had chosen not to. Situations like this can make you focus on the cruelty. It’s hard not to. But I also think about the people who step in. The person who stops on the side of the road. The person who opens their home. The person who donates, volunteers, fosters, or simply shares a post because they want to help. These four little fighters are now safe. They’re eating well, and they have a fresh start in front of them. Now we need help getting them into foster homes. If you have room for one or more of these babies, or know someone who might, please reach out. They deserve to spend this next chapter somewhere warm and safe, surrounded by people who want them here. Text 409-797-6248 if you can foster. Please share their story. Sometimes one person making the decision to stop and help changes everything.
