Sometimes, I feel like nobody truly understands what’s going on inside my heart. I smile, I laugh, and I act like everything is okay, but deep down, I’m fighting feelings that I don’t even know how to explain. I’ve learned how to say “I’m fine” even when I’m not, how to stay quiet when I have a thousand things to say, and how to hide my sadness behind a smile so nobody asks questions I’m not ready to answer. The hardest part is not always being alone; sometimes, it’s being surrounded by people and still feeling like nobody really sees you. I miss the days when happiness came naturally, when little things could make me smile, and when my heart didn’t feel so heavy. Now, I overthink everything, replay conversations in my mind, and wonder whether I mean as much to people as they mean to me. Sometimes, I wish someone would notice the little changes in me, ask if I’m really okay, and stay long enough to hear the truth instead of accepting my usual answer. I’m tired of pretending that nothing hurts, tired of acting strong when all I want is a little peace, and tired of giving people the kind of care I sometimes wish someone would give me. But even through all this sadness, a small part of me still hopes that one day things will feel lighter, that I’ll laugh without forcing it, trust without being afraid, and feel happy without wondering when it will disappear. Maybe I’m not the same person I used to be, and maybe life has changed me in ways nobody can see. But I’m still here, learning to understand myself, learning to let go of what I cannot change, and learning that it’s okay not to be okay every single day. I may be hurting right now, but this chapter is not my whole story. One day, I hope I’ll look back at these moments and realize that even when life felt heavy, there was still a future waiting for me, filled with new beginnings, genuine smiles, and people who make me feel that I truly belong. Until then, I’ll take life one day at a time, even on the days when all I can do is keep going. 🖤🥀
