Can’t believe how awful that update is. It basically sends the message that if you commit a serious foul, it doesn’t matter card-wise if the resulting play advantages the opposition

I’m not sure how that makes any sense to be honest. If there’s a foul deserving of a yellow card, but advantage is called, you’re allowed to let the play continue and give a yellow after the fact. I think you should still award the goal and the red. Weird rule change imo

What's interesting is that the attacker has a choice, if he stays down, he gets a penalty, with good chance (not definite) of scoring and other team down to 10 men or he chooses to tap it in and continue to face 11 v 11 ... what would you do ? 🤔

The foul itself was a yellow card offence, even if there was no DOGSO, if a midfielder didn't that and they played advantage the ref would still go back and book them.

Not convinced changing that rule makes sense. It’s a card offense by the keeper. Red if the goals not scored. But because the goal is scored there’s no yellow? At any point of the game, a similar foul by any field player, anywhere on the pitch, it’s a yellow card infraction. The rule change is not sensible nor logical.

Goalkeeper deserved red card and to be sent off. He shouldnt be bailed out by the fact that striker was still able to score.

You are saying if a ref sees a yellow card foul but plays advantage, and he intends to go back and book him after the passage of play, he no longer can book him IF a goal results??

30 mins in, I'm staying down. Make them play rest of game with 10, backup goalie, and still most likely scoring the PK.

I hate the new rule. it takes away any of the risk that you're going to get in trouble and encourages them to make that play because if it's a dog so they might not score. yeah you might be off the field but they might not score. if they score then nothing bad happens and you got away with a foul. the yellow card kept some teeth in it and taking that away is unfortunate
