This makes me think about how this same kind of in group policing happens on a much larger scale within corrupt political systems. Corporations, lobbyists, politicians & media create division because the system can incentivize them to amplify existing identities and hierarchies until people start policing and fighting one another, essentially enforcing the system on each other. Essentially creating hierarchies in which ppl are easier to control.
