@morgannoeell: Don’t ever think for a second that volunteers, shelter staff, networkers, and rescues don’t cry. We do. A lot. 😅 It takes a whole lot of strength to push through the hard days, but we do it for them. We show up for them. We put our own feelings aside for them. We keep going, even when our hearts are breaking. But at the end of the day, we break down too. We have our moments. We cry. We grieve. And that’s okay. We need to. We’re involved in so much heartache, and carrying that weight isn’t easy. So if you’re someone who spends your days advocating, rescuing, volunteering, networking, fostering, or caring for these animals — please know you don’t have to hold it all in. I’m always here if anyone ever needs to let it out. I get it. I understand. We are a community, and we should be there for one another through the good days AND the hard ones.
