Are you literally explaining the definition of Naivety while saying they weren't naive. Being naive isn't necessary a bad thing. For instance I'm naive about how gunshot wounds feel, and I'd like to stay naive about that.

before 911, the general advice for dealing with a hijacking was to sit down be quiet and wait until it’s over. They probably had no idea what the hijackers intended until it was too late

I think the only reason the passengers and crew of that one flight rushed the cockpit is because they learned what had happened at the world trade centre. It was the only choice.

I think United 93 took off 20 minutes late and that’s what allowed them the time to find out what was really going on. Had the other planes known, I believe they would have done something similar. Just look at what’s happened basically anytime since that someone has tried something foolish on a plane. The passengers don’t allow it. Shoe-bomber Richard Reid was just 3 months later and he got taken down by passengers and crew. The first 3 planes and then United 93 are a perfect illustration of pre and post 9/11 thinking in real time.

There’s an actual phone call you can hear from a passenger to his dad when they crash into the second tower. The Dad thought they would land the plane for a ransom. The son on the plane thought differently and told his dad it was ok—because it would happen fast.

No bc before that day hijackers just wanted money and they thought they’d be fine. Flight 93 saw the pattern and knew they had to do something so they did.
