@allatra.official: September 14, 2026 | Natural Disaster Summary Sakurajima, Kagoshima | Japan - Multiple eruptions occurred at Sakurajima's Minamidake crater, producing ash columns reaching approximately 2,000–2,500 meters above the crater. Volcanic ash drifted mainly northwest toward parts of Kagoshima Prefecture. Authorities maintained the volcanic alert at Level 3, restricting access around the volcano due to the risk of large volcanic rocks and pyroclastic flows near the craters. Ribeira Valley, São Paulo | Brazil - Heavy rainfall caused the Ribeira de Iguape River to rise dramatically, triggering widespread flooding across the Ribeira Valley. Eldorado received 118.9 mm of rain over 72 hours, while the river rose from 2.6 meters on September 10 to 11.1 meters by September 13. Streets, homes, businesses, and other areas were inundated, and 173 people from 54 families were evacuated in Eldorado. Hundreds of families were also affected in Sete Barras and Ribeira, where residents were placed in shelters or isolated by road closures. Hainan | China - Prolonged torrential rainfall caused widespread flooding across Hainan Island, with Wuzhishan recording 616.2 mm within 24 hours, the highest urban daily rainfall there since observations began in 1958. Streets and vehicles were submerged, utility services were disrupted in some areas, and rescue teams assisted people trapped by floodwaters. By the evening of September 14, more than 55,000 people had been evacuated from high-risk areas across Hainan, while schools, businesses, and shops were closed in several districts amid flooding and landslide risks. Amalfi Coast | Italy - A wildfire broke out in Tordigliano on the Vico Equense side of the Amalfi Coast, between Positano and Piano di Sorrento, shortly after another fire in the area. Flames spread through dry vegetation along the rocky ridge and were visible from as far away as Sorrento. Initial assessments indicated that residual hotspots from the earlier fire may have reignited. State of Mexico | Mexico - Heavy downpours caused severe flooding across several municipalities, with Ecatepec and Tlalnepantla among the hardest hit. Floodwaters exceeding 45 cm in some areas inundated streets, homes, businesses, and vehicles, while powerful torrents swept away cars and debris in parts of Ecatepec. Flooding also affected the Mexico City-Querétaro highway near Tlalnepantla. Heavy hail was reported in Cuautitlán Izcalli, Zumpango, Tultitlán, and Teoloyucan.
