Not for most people also the listing every day thing is kind of a myth. I don’t know where that even came from but it’s not really true. Being active helps but you don’t really need to list every day. I’ve ran all sorts of test with my store. As far as promotions for me if it’s a unique item, one of a kind item you can get away with two or 3%. I do that with my crystals or my antiques. As far as clothes go if you’re going to be selling things like Ralph Lauren or other clothes that there is thousands and thousands of if you’re not promoting you’re not really going to sell unless you’re lucky. I’m an averaging about $1000 a day in sales with only 1100 items and I can tell a huge difference if I’m promoting at 5% compared to 10% unfortunately eBay, they’re gonna get theirs. I hate promoting just like everybody else but I would rather move an item and pay an extra 1.25 to eBay then let it sit for three months.

I stopped promoting, but I keep hearing clothing needs to promote so I went back and I only promote clothing 3% eBay is so slow for me right now.

Never and I mean never do eBay’s suggested rate! I’ve had some where they suggested 15-17% on top of the reg fees.. insane

I promote between 10-12% sad but if I take it down to even 6-8 ebay will punish my sales. All preowned clothing 4k items.
