Random storytime but… I’ll never forget the time I saw Alt-J at a dive bar in Silverlake. The room was packed and sweaty — as every dive bar in 2012 was and still should be — and everyone there was brought by the truest music lover in their life who always knew the industry’s best kept secrets before the rest of us. When the dude on the keys started tapping his finger cymbals and Fitzpleasure started to fill the stickered and scrawled on walls, you literally saw eyes widen and jaws drop in slow motion all around you. It. Was. Magic. That feeling. That exact indescribable one that you only know if you know and are lucky enough to experience? THAT is the space I want this little alt clothing brand of ours to hold for people. Because I know it does for me and the OG customers who get in first on every drop, fill carts with full fits and keep us going for another year. One day, I sure f*cking hope I’m in a position to outsource packing every order 😂 but for now, I’m savoring seeing every single one of you roll in. You always hear big artists talk about how they miss playing those intimate shows like that dive bar in Silverlake. Because they could see every face in the audience and in turn, feel seen by the way they watched their music make people feel. I don’t know that we’ll ever reach the heights we dream of but this sweet spot right here of just doing something we love, experimenting with the next right step to take and hoping people who love it as much as we do find it because their friend who knows the alt fashion world’s best kept secrets before anyone else introduces them to Two Halves — it’s pretty magical. 🖤 #twohalves #indiefashion #fashion #indiebrand
