It is being done to Owen in order to make what they did to Charlie Kirk look normal. It’s not like a kid dying in a traffic accident is some rare once in a lifetime occurrence, so for them to randomly make a spectacle about Owen is suspicious. I don’t think it is a coincidence that he happened to come off as right wing either, because that is likely another reason why they are doing it. If he was black and openly on the left, you could guarantee this wouldn’t be happening. Overall this meme seems genuinely so fake and forced so that these people can normalize the celebration of death against those they disagree with. They can point to the jokes they made about Owen to say that what they did with Charlie wasn’t because they supported it and that they were just jokes, but in reality it is just a scapegoat to hide what they really believe in.
