A few months ago, I travelled through some of the most remote parts of Nepal, and that journey taught me something I will carry with me forever. If you’re planning to trek or travel to places like these, please make a little space in your bag for the people you meet along the way. If you can spare a few basic medicines with a long expiry date, some chocolates for the kids you meet on your journey, or even a notebook, copy, pencil, or pen, please consider taking them with you. You don’t have to bring a lot. Even a small thing can be a big help to someone there. In those places, even simple medicines and basic food can be very difficult to get. When someone gets sick, they may have to travel four or five hours just to find medicine. Even basic household food and necessities can take hours to reach their homes. Sometimes, they have to keep using expired food because getting new supplies is not easy. I still feel a little guilty when I think about my own trip. We did give them some medicine, but it wasn’t enough. We simply didn’t know what we would encounter. We never imagined that something so small and ordinary to us could mean so much to someone else. When we met people who needed medicine or something to help with their injuries, I wished I had brought more. I’m not sharing this for an audience or for any personal benefit. I’m sharing it because I experienced it myself, and I wish someone had told me before I went. So, if you ever travel to a remote place, maybe leave just a little space in your bag for someone else too. Bring whatever you can comfortably spare, with a little kindness. We may not be able to change everything for them, but if each of us carries a little kindness with us, maybe we can make their journey a little easier. ❤️ - @phool_0702
