التحذير من التساهل في الدَّين || فضيلة الشيخ العلامة محمد #ابن_عثيمين - رحمه الله تعالى
“Randa, your people bombed the World Trade Center.” Those were the first words I heard before the second tower came down. I will never forget the screams, the debris, the fear and the complete chaos. In a matter of hours, everything changed. I watched New Yorkers come together and help complete strangers without thinking twice. I watched people run toward the danger to save others. I watched friends lose people they loved. I watched families wait for answers that would never come. The smell stayed with us for months. The debris was everywhere. They were still searching for body parts and remains long after that day was over. It wasn’t something we watched on TV and then went back to our lives. We lived it. And then came the racism. As a Palestinian woman, I became the target of every 9/11 joke, comment and insult. I dealt with the looks, the airport screenings and people treating me like I had something to do with what happened simply because of who I was. But I was a New Yorker too. I was scared too. I watched my city fall apart too. I lost a part of my innocence that day too. Nothing will ever come close to the horror we all experienced on September 11. Twenty-five years later, it still feels like yesterday. I will never forget the people who went to work and never made it home. I will never forget their families. I will never forget the people who risked their own lives to help someone else. September 11 will always be heavy for me, especially because it falls the day before my birthday. Every year, before I celebrate another year of my life, I think about all the people who never got another birthday. 25 years later, I still remember everything. #remebering911 #911
