I took a 55% salary cut. I can pay my bills. I still have fun. Im not saving right now. I get school holidays off. I spent summer hanging out with my parents and getting time I didn’t have with them. I saw my friends again. I helped a friend with her baby, cooked a month of food for her so she had one thing off her hands. I slept. Omg, I SLEPT. My nightmares of my manager turned into dreams of me on fun fantasy adventures. Last night? (I work nights now) there wasnt work the final hour. My team and I spent time laughing, dancing, eating a meal together. My pocket is emptier but oh! How full is my healing heart.

Recruiter here! Some tips I have is networking because you’d be surprised sometimes there’s jobs in the works that might not be posted yet. Also, those LinkedIn easy applies us recruiters have to track LinkedIn applications as well as our own ATS systems so apply in both places. Cold calling! call the employer and let them know you put in an application. It may not always work but sometimes putting in a little more effort can help. Keep your head up!
