Texting someone a lot doesn’t automatically make you needy or pathetic. Wanting connection and enjoying talking to someone is normal. It starts feeling needy when the texting is driven by anxiety rather than genuine conversation. For example, repeatedly texting because they haven’t responded, needing constant reassurance, getting upset when they take a while to reply, or always being the one chasing while they barely engage. The bigger thing to watch is reciprocity. If you’re both constantly texting each other and enjoying it, that’s just your dynamic. If you’re sending 8 messages while they’re giving you one dry reply every six hours, the issue isn’t that you’re pathetic. It’s that the energy isn’t matching.
