It’s sadly pretty rare for endo to be seen on an ultrasound only accurate way to have a diagnosis for that is endo surgery 😭 My endo was found via surgery at 15, I had pain ever since my very first period.

Get a DET scan, it’s the only one that will pick up endo and/or Adenomyosis…

ultrasound very rarely finds endo sadly. most times it isnt caught till they go in for a laproscope. And yes I got endo after my 3rd Csection, also pcos, adeno and PCS. yay for me! 😭 although some of these things only came about after also egg dontation after havibg my tubes tied. I had my tubes tied after my daughter so im booked in for a hysterectomy and hopefully they can save my ovaries 😩 but 7 years of so much pain and gaslighting! it effects my bowels, my back, my legs, my boobs and its debilitating! I can not poop without laxitives daily anymore. the bloating is like im 6 months pregnant! Sadly there is no cure for most of these things. adenomyosis is cured by hysterectomy. I will forever have to have surgery to remove endo. I wont be totally cured keeping my ovaries but I cant have synthetic hormones at all sadly. im hoping my quality of life gets slightly better but its actually become a disability for me. I cant work due to all these chronic illnesses. months bed ridden at times where I have tried so hard to be a good mum but couldnt leave the house or bed. its awful! truely hope you get answers! im not sure about where you are but some places now have endo clinics and your best bet is to see an endo specialist. good luck!!

My periods definitely got worse (heavier, irregular and more painful) after my third baby. Everything checked out normal. Scans, bloods etc. It took 2 years for my hormones to reset. So crazy!

I didn’t have C - section … however I suffer very bad scaring external and internal in my organs specific .. I started have bladder problems few yrs after having my son (which turned into Fowlers syndrome) most horrible thing I’ve had to go through anyhow I had a open abdominal surgery last month and of course after 2 weeks post op things were looking up … I was so wrong I developed severe small bowel obstruction in small intestines as well as scar adhesions inside the small intestines and very high up.. I left it and delt with the pain as being women we are strong that got me into a lot of trouble 8hrs approx in resus and then ICU . I was resuscitated x4 due to then more complications and the fact my body was in over drive . I also have chronic pelvic pain I was checked for endo came back clear I’m still not convinced long story short follow you instincts and always get other opinions if still not feeling you are satisfied. Get breast scans and MRIs yearly but for a different issue. Ive had 10 ultrasounds, with 1 being saline infusion for my pelvic pain it showed adenomyosis not endo.

I’m not sure if you have it where your located but if you can get a specialised endometriosis scan if you haven’t, they cost around $500 but 100% worth it ❤️

I've had extremely heavy painful periods since I was 15 (now 32). I had 2 ultrasounds about 2-3 years apart at specialist women's imaging and both came back with no endo findings. I had surgery earlier this year and they found stage 2 endo in 3 of the 4 tissue samples they sent off and all around my ovaries, they removed what they could and placed a new mirena. The first 6 months after the surgery my pain and bleeding were a lot better but then it started to come back, I'm now on the Slinda OCP in addition to the mirena will give it a few months to see if it works.

Highly highly recommend a naturopath. I too got my period at 11, but mine have been heavy and painful my entire life. I hav been on herbs and supplements along with an anti inflammatory diet and my periods are noticeably different after 2 cycles

endo cannot be seen on imaging most of the time babe! but adenomyosis can, (thick uterus) so make sure your dr refers you to a gyno who specialises in endo so you can have a lap to see if you have endo!

You could look into myotherapy scar release as the adhesions can cause pain from csec scaring

I was diagnosed with endo 6 months ago after a surgery, all I remember is that the internal ultrasound was so painful for me although nothing was seen on scans

A naturopath can actually be SO helpful with endo. Not as a replacement for gynae care, but alongside it, looking at things like inflammation, nutrient status, gut health, pain support, hormones, energy, iron levels and individual triggers. There is so much more we can work on than just “put up with the pain” 🤍

i’m in the process of being diagnosed for endo. I was originally diagnosed with Admeoymosis and that has triggered them to check for endo- ultrasounds look ok apart from my uterus and now i’m on waitlist for endo surgery. Depending on how my adenomyosis goes i may end up having to have a hysterectomy:/

Just so you are aware it is there for endometriosis to show on scans, only shoes OCCASIONALLY on MRI, but even then not always. Mines never shown on any scans however I’ve had 3 surgeries for it so far and it’s been removed 3 times. Only way to know for certain is via surgery.

I have endometriosis and I went to gynaecologist did some tests and went for surgery and got diagnosed with cat 2 I’m still in pain 9 months post op I had a lot of signs of symptoms for endometriosis I have had heavy periods or would constantly bleed or miss my periods ever since 2016 I have had nothing but pain with periods but definitely get it checked out with Adenomyosis as they can be linked

It took me nearly 10 years to get diagnosed with endometriosis, 12 years for PMOS and 15 years for adenomyosis. I started having symptoms at age 11 and wasn’t until I was just about to turn 21 that I had diagnostic surgery! Endo is a hard battle! Sadly as some have stated endo is not often found on ultrasound but with that being said there are some ultrasound machines that can detect it but still are unable to provide a diagnosis. My biggest piece of advice is find someone who is an endometriosis excision specialist (not just a gyno!) and also someone that will work well with your gp (also make sure you have a good gp who will advocate for you and help communicate with all people involved with your care). Endometriosis presents different for everyone some people don’t feel pain, others feel lots of pain, some people are feel better post kids and some people only discover it after kids! Endometriosis is difficult and everyone’s journey is so different! If you are going down a path to be diagnosed definitely ask to look into adenomyosis and Pmos (previously called pcos). Good luck with finding answers and hopefully this has helped just a little! 💛

I had a small lump after my second birth and had it checked at 8 weeks pp, they said it was a cyst and to keep an eye on it and now it’s gone!! Always better to be safe than sorry 🩷

I was actually told that after each pregnancy periods can become more painful. Unfortunately for me, I had endo, adenomyosis and polycystic ovaries (but not polycystic ovary syndrome). I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago because after my twins pregnancy my periods became soooooooo bad and soooooooo painful

You need the surgery my sister had stage 4 endo and all the tests and scans came out clear she did the surgery just incase and it was soooo bad she had the surgery twice in 9 months
