He was alert and able to take that picture. He lives in a rural area of Oklahoma. He was airlifted to the nearest level 1 hospital, probably in Tulsa. He received IV medication and a heart monitor in transport. He will go straight to the cath lab for tests and immediate treatment. This is the ideal situation for anyone having a heart attack. He will receive lifesaving treatment within that golden hour. Wishing a quick recovery for Matthew.

As a CVICU nurse, this is a good sign. He got there quickly. Being airlifted is likely just because the hospital where he is at didn’t have a cath lab. Time is muscle. He’ll likely get a stent and medicine. Thinking of him and his family.
