Measuring just 46 cm long and weighing about 1.4 kg, it’s smaller than an average house cat. Genetic research confirmed it as a previously unknown species—the first new living cat species identified in more than 100 years, Reuters reported. Called Tilcayo by locals, this elusive cat has light-brown fur with distinctive rosettes that resemble that of a leopard.
