Basically you cry for a bit. And then realize you can live on your own. And then you start loving your life. Reconnect with your girl friends. Do anything and everything you want. Get your dream car. Go on trips every two months. Get a promotion. Buy a house, all by yourself with your cats. Its a beautiful life. From the rain comes a garden🫶🏻

I broke up with my first love after meeting at 16 and we’d been together 6 years. It was AWFUL, you have to rediscover who you even are and will have a massive identity crisis. You’re effectively starting your life all over again, after growing up in your formative years with this person. I spiralled and wouldn’t recommend 😆

It’s interesting to see how different people’s responses are to this. Personally I’m 2 and a half years post breakup with a girl I was with for the same amount of time and I have not even come close to recovering, it completely turned my life upside down and It’s really only getting worse. I’ve spoken to zero girls since the breakup and have made zero friends. Had to go to therapy and start antidepressants but none of that worked either. I wish I could relate to these people saying life goes on and you eventually get over it but that never happened to me. Life got so much worse.
